Labor Commits to Reinstate Time Use Survey

1.00pm | March 06, 2018

What we measure matters. Today the Australian Labor Party has committed to reinstating the Time Use Survey which measures women’s unpaid work. This was a recommendation of the Inquiry I chaired into Gender Segregation in the workforce. Women carry the overwhelming burden of unpaid household work in Australia. This fact contributes to the persistent gender pay gap. This survey will allow us to quantify women’s unpaid work and measure it’s economic contribution.
